Philipp Werner (University of Fribourg, Switzerland):
Nonequilibrium Dynamical Mean Field Theory

Dynamical mean field theory, which maps a lattice problem to a self-consistently determined effective impurity model, is widely used for the study of strongly-correlated electron systems and materials. I will discuss the generalization of this formalism to the nonequilibrium domain, including the extension of exact and perturbative impurity solvers to the real-time axis. As applications of the method, we will consider the enhancement and sign inversion of the effective electron-electron interaction by AC electric fields, and the realization of superconducting states with very high effective temperature in photo-doped Mott insulators.
