History

MonteBoo observatory was founded by staff of the Astronomical Institute of the Masaryk University on the small mount near Brno centre at 1948. The building of our dome was done together with build of the Nicholas Copernicus Observatory and Planetarium. Now, the MonteBoo Observatory is maintained by the Institute of theoretical physics and astrophysics of the Masaryk University in Brno.

The photo-electric photometry of binary eclipsing stars was our main observing program to 90's. The CCD photometry era starts during 90's. We reconstructing the telescope, mount and the dome last five years.
