We cordially invite you to a Department of Plasma Physics and Technology seminary lecture. The speaker is prof. Jochen M. Schneider of Materials Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. His research focuses on the quantum-mechanically guided design of thin films with tailored thermal and chemical stability, as well as elasticity. He also designs self-reporting materials.

The oxidation behavior of TiAlB2, HfAlB2 and selected compositionally complex variants are compared. For TiAlB2 the effect of the metal to nonmetal ratio as well as the Al concentration is explored and compared to TiAlN. Similarities and differences of to the oxidation behavior of HfAlB2 will be discussed and compared to selected compositionally complex variants.

Poster for a lecture by Professor Jochen M. Schneider on "Synthesis and oxidation behavior of transition metal aluminum diborides," scheduled for September 25, 2025, at MUNI SCI, focusing on materials chemistry. The event is organized by the Institute of Physics and Plasma Technology.
