Tomáš Hoder Appointed Professor

On 16 December 2025, Tomáš Hoder, leader of the Plasma Diagnostics and Modelling research group at DPPT and CEPLANT at SCI MU, was officially appointed Professor by President Petr Pavel during a ceremony at the Carolinum. This honor highlights his exceptional contributions to plasma physics, international collaborations, and commitment to teaching and mentoring future scientists.

Anastasia Moskvina is new Brno Ph.D. Talent

Brno Ph.D. Talent Project announced its new winners. From physics at Masaryk University, Anastasia Moskvina was successful in Plasma Physics. Anastasia works under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Homola at the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications research group. In her project, she will focus on creating plasma-modified MXene-loaded scaffolds that combine osteosarcoma therapy through photothermal and photodynamic effects with bone tissue regeneration support.

Lukáš Vrána extends his stay in Japan

PhD student Lukáš Vrána is extending his internship at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Tsukuba, where he explores advanced microscopy and micromechanical testing on high-entropy stabilized nitrides. His stay has already sparked new collaborations between Masaryk University and NIMS, paving the way for joint projects on student mobility and thin-film research using HiPIMS technology.
