CaviPlasma for the wastewater cleaning wins two TA ČR Awards

CaviPlasma technology for the cleaning of wastewater from hard-to-remove pollutants wins the TA ČR Award in the category SOCIETY and also becomes the absolute winner with the title Czech Idea 2024.

Scientists from the Applied Plasmochemistry research group of the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology can boast with this huge success together with their colleagues from ZENA s.r.o., the Institute of Botany CAS, and the T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute.

The project of the unique technology for wastewater purification from difficult-to-remove micropollutants won the TA ČR 2024 Award in the category SOCIETY and was also voted as the absolute winner with the title Czech Idea 2024. The winning project is based on CaviPlasma technology, a joint invention of the Brno University of Technology, Masaryk University, and the Insitute of Botany CAS.  You can read more about the technology in our article here. The TA ČR awards are given to the best quality projects of applied research in categories reflecting the economic and social benefits of the project results.

This year's TA ČR Day, 7 November 2024, was in the spirit of the 15th anniversary of the entire agency. At the Innovation Gala Dinner held at the National Museum in Prague, representatives from ZENA s.r.o., Dr. Miroslav Dohnal, from the Institute of Botany, Prof. Blahoslav Maršálek and from Masarayk University Assoc. Prof. Pavel Sťahel and Dr. Jan Čech together received both awards.
