Quantum @ 100: No Fiction, Only Science
DTPA invites you to a public lecture marking the centenary of quantum mechanics by Subhroneel Chakrabarti. The lecture will take place on December 3rd at 6 p.m. in lecture room F1.
Mgr. Petr Bílek, Ph.D. and his supervisor Mgr. Zdeněk Bonaventura, Ph.D. received an award from MUNI vice-rector. The award is granted for excellent achievements of doctoral students during their studies. Only 40 fresh doctoral absolvents and their supervisors received this award from the whole Masaryk university.
The award for excellent achievements in doctoral studies was granted to Mgr. Petr Bílek, Ph.D. and his supervisor Mgr. Zdeněk Bonaventura, Ph.D. For academic year 2020/2021, MUNI vice-rector prof. RNDr. Šárka Pospíšilová, Ph.D. granted this award to only 40 fresh doctoral absolvents and their supervisors.
Mgr. Petr Bílek, Ph.D. successfully finished his doctoral studies on 1st October 2020. The topic of his dissertation thesis was “Towards predictive and reliable models of plasma chemical kinetics”. He used methods of sensitivity analysis and quantification of uncertainty to investigate the effect of uncertainty of inputs on observable model. He contributed to improvement of diagnostics approach used to determine electric fields in transient and non-equilibrium discharges in air (e.g. DBD, corona discharge or geophysical plasmas).
MUNI vice-reactor grants this excellent achievement award to absolvents of doctoral programs who finished their studies in standard four years, who’s dissertation thesis is excellent quality and who’s scientific results were published in science journals of Q1 level. The award carries a financial bonus for both the student and their supervisor. By granting this award, vice-rector motivates current doctoral studies to complete their studies within the regular time period and with top quality results. Recognizing those who have managed to do so, is among a series of activities undertaken by the university to improve the quality of doctoral studies.
